S3M-05749 Alasdair Allan (Western Isles) (Scottish National Party): Hebridean SciTech Festival— That the Parliament congratulates Engineering, Science, Technology, Employability, Enterprise, Mathematics (ESTEEM), the organiser of the first science festival in the Western Isles, taking place between 18 and 20 March 2010 in Stornoway; notes that, this week, it has received £5,000 in funding from the Scottish Government’s Office of the Chief Scientific Adviser; believes that events such as this help to stimulate the interest and expand the understanding of young people in science and technology and encourage them to study these subjects at school, and wishes ESTEEM well in organising a successful science festival in the Western Isles.
